This is England is a look back at the early eighties of British working-class life through the eyes of young Shaun and his new gang, and dealing with the bitterness of outside influences such as racism and xenophobia, of mass unemployment and the fall out of the Falkland's War; Thatcher's Britain: Did we ever have it so good? (cz) Drama o Anglii v 80. letech 20. století. Táta dvanáctiletého Shauna padl ve válce o Falklandy a Shaun teď naléhavě potřebuje mužský vzor i zastání. Zdá se, že je nachází v partě o něco starších místních skinheads. Situace se však komplikuje, když se do party vrátí propuštěný vězeň Combo - ten nebere skinheads jako životní styl a subkulturu, ale jako příležitost prosazovat své rasistické názory a ventilovat svou chorobnou agresivitu. Původní parta se rozpadá a Shaun prožívá deziluzi, která vede k jeho předčasnému dospění.
