(en) On January 16 the anarchist Giannis Dimitrakis trying with others to rob the branch of National Bank Street Solon. While the perpetrators left the bank having taken with them the money, the guard of the bank decides to pursue the perpetrators and notifies the police, believing that the money is insured bank are more valuable than the lives of people.

A few minutes later, the center of Athens policemen will encircle the perpetrators and ignoring the crowd surrounding them, they will begin a barrage of fire from which badly injured John Demetrakis and a passerby.

Trying to stop the perpetrators, the guard of the bank and he gets hurt too heavy.

Since that time the state and the media will begin an orgy of disinformation, slander and tromousterias to anarchist-antiauthoritarian space.

This video captures all this orchestrated effort targeting and slander anarchists, 3 of whom are forced to take refuge underground.

Ενώ οι δράστες αποχωρούν από την τράπεζα έχοντας πάρει μαζί τους τα χρήματα, ο φρουρός της τράπεζας αποφασίζει να κυνηγήσει τους δράστες και ειδοποιεί την αστυνομία, θεωρώντας ότι τα ασφαλισμένα χρήματα της τράπεζας έχουν μεγαλύτερη αξία από τις ζωές των ανθρώπων.

Λίγα λεπτά αργότερα, στο κέντρο της Αθήνας οι αστυνομικοί θα περικυκλώσουν τους δράστες και αδιαφορώντας για το πλήθος κόσμου που βρίσκεται γύρω τους, θα αρχίσουν έναν καταιγισμό πυρών από τα οποία θα τραυματιστεί βαριά ο Γιάννης Δημητράκης και ένας περαστικός.

Επιχειρώντας να σταματήσει τους δράστες, ο φρουρός της τράπεζας θα τραυματιστεί και αυτός πολύ βαριά.

Από τη στιγμή εκείνη το κράτος και τα Μ.Μ.Ε. θα ξεκινήσουν ένα όργιο παραπληροφόρησης, κατασυκοφάντησης και τρομοϋστερίας με στόχο τον αναρχικό-αντιεξουσιαστικό χώρο.

Το βίντεο αυτο καταγράφει όλη αυτή την ενορχηστρωμένη προσπάθεια στοχοποίησης και κατασυκοφάντησης αναρχικών, 3 από τους οποίους αναγκάζονται να καταφύγουν στην παρανομία.

The film also depicts the ability of women and children to handle their everyday life after a dramatic war experience. Many of them live in tents or in ruins without walls or roofs. They are all in need of money, food, water and electricity. Others have lost family members, or are left with seriously injured children. Can war solve conflicts or create peace? The film follows three children through the war and the period after the ceasefire.

Her castigation of Israel's military occupation of the Palestinian people and the Israeli Government's disregard for the safety of Israelis and Palestinians rang with clarity. Through peace activism she ascertained the facts on the ground. She called it as she saw it.
The documentary, "Rachel Corrie: An American Conscience," chronicles her humanitarian work with the International Solidarity Movement in Rafah, Gaza Strip, just prior to her murder in March 2003. While Corrie stood in front of a Palestinian home to prevent its demolition, an Israeli soldier in a Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer crushed her.
Director Yahya Barakat, a professor in the Mass Media and TV Department at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem, edited 80 hours of film footage from Gaza, the West Bank and Olympia, Washington for two years. He created a cinematic collage of international voices; people who work for peace and who support the Palestinians in their daily life activities. Through interviews, Barakat presents a collective chastisement of the military occupation, the U.S. and Israeli Governments, as well as U.S. mainstream media.

(en) Fred Hampton, founder of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, was assassinated by a special unit of the Chicago Police Department on December 4th, 1969 as he lay face down in bed. He was 21 years old when he was murdered. The police fired 99 unanswered shots into his apartment, wounding Fred as he slept. Apparently drugged by an informant, Hampton was unable to awaken. After the raid the police put two more shots into Hampton’s head and said “Now he’s good and dead.”

This film follows the last year or so of Fred’s life and the investigation immediately following his murder.

The first part of the film shows Fred speaking and organizing and provides a brief glimpse into the Panther community programs such as free breakfasts for school children, as well as a fairly good portrayal of Hampton’s dynamic speaking abilities, vast depth of knowledge for someone so young, and his passion for the revolutionary struggle of all oppressed people worldwide regardless of race.

The remainder of the film focuses on Fred’s murder including footage of the crime scene. The attacking police unit was so secret that the local precinct was not notified to clean things up after the bodies were removed. As a result the Panthers and their attorneys filmed and collected a vast amount of evidence which proved the police and states’ attorneys were lying. The police and government arguments are given, interspersed with contradictory proof by the Panthers and their attorneys proving that this was not a raid gone sour, but rather a carefully planned assassination. The photo of the police smiling joyously as they carry Hampton’s body out of the apartment is ominous.

This film was made right after Fred Hampton was murdered, and before the Panthers were aware that one of their own – William O’Neal – was actually an FBI informant who provided the police with the map of Fred Hampton’s apartment. It was also filmed years before the information about the FBI’s COINTELPRO campaign was made public. It is a great piece of history which gives a rare fair treatment to the Black Panther Party.

In Melbourne, he got to know a community of musicians who were on the run from the Indonesian army and had fled from West Papua to Australia. Through their stories, he gained insight into the true history of the country. Strange Birds in Paradise is a journey into just some of the more than 250 West Papuan cultures. Intercut with Hill-Smith's travelogue and short animations, the interviews paint a picture not only of a country with a rich musical tradition and breathtaking nature, but also of a country weighed down by Indonesian military oppression. A large number of retired army generals have substantial economic interests in West Papua, and the army uses extreme violence to keep the lid on the West Papuan population's independence movement. In 2006, Hill-Smith decided to return to West Papua, this time equipped with a professional camera and all the knowledge he had gained about the country's history.

(en) Opening with a montage of four hundred years of race conflict in America, this powerful documentary provides the historical context for the establishment of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense in the mid-1960s.

Organized by Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton, the Party soon embodied every major element of the civil rights movement which preceded it and the Black, Brown and Red power movements which it helped pioneer.

The Party struck fear in the hearts of the white capitalist power structure, which feared it as a terrorist group. During the Nixon years, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI, with the cooperation of the CIA, used all means at their disposal to infiltrate and derail the Black Power movement. Methods of state repression included assassination, frame-ups, dirty tricks and black propaganda.

Witnesses include not only Party veterans and other Black Power pioneers and political prisoners such as Mumia Abu-Jamal, Dr. Mutulu Skakur and Dhoruba Bin Wahad, but also "establishment" figures like former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, CIA officer Philip Edward Agee, and retired FBI agents.

Yet, the documentary is not a paean to the Panthers, for it criticizes the megalomania, corruption, and narcissism of some Party leaders, while it praises their courage and idealism.

Whether or not one is sympathetic to the Black Panthers, the film is an important historic look at the political and racial turmoils of the 1960s and an up-close look at the leading players.

A film about the revolutionaries after the revolution, PUBLIC ENEMY focuses on the personal lives, past and present, of four Panther Party members - prisoner-turned-playwright Jamal Joseph; musician and record producer, Nile Rodgers (Chic, Sister Sledge); law professor and lecturer Kathleen Cleaver; and the last surviving founding member, Bobby Seale.

Through candid conversations, the promise and limitations of attempting revolutionary change are expressed: What were the Party's long-term effects on African Americans and their status in society? How did the Black Panther Party impact popular culture? How did these leaders' involvement personally affect them - their hopes, their dreams? And after tumultuous years of being viewed by the FBI as "the greatest internal threat to the nation," how does America perceive them today?

Interlacing archival protest footage with recent interviews, the film examines black America today, 25 years after the demise of its most radical advocates. At a time when black culture - and the social gap between whites and blacks - is more prominent than ever before, PUBLIC ENEMY is a provocative interpretation of the dark side of the American Dream.

(en) "Punishment Park" is a pseudo-documentary purporting to be a film crews's news coverage of the team of soldiers escorting a group of hippies, draft dodgers, and anti-establishment types across the desert in a type of capture the flag game. The soldiers vow not to interfere with the rebels' progress and merely shepherd them along to their destination. At that point, having obtained their goal, they will be released. The film crew's coverage is meant to insure that the military's intentions are honorable. As the representatives of the 60's counter-culture get nearer to passing this arbitrary test, the soldiers become increasingly hostile, attempting to force the hippies out of their pacifist behavior. A lot of this film appears improvised and in several scene real tempers seem to flare as some of the "acting" got overaggressive. This is a interesting exercise in situational ethics. The cinema-veritie style, hand-held camera, and ambiguous demands of the director - would the actors be able to maintain their roles given the hazing they were taking - pushed some to the brink. The cast's emotions are clearly on the surface. Unfortunately this film has gone completely underground and is next to impossible to find. It would offer a captivating document of the distrust that existed between soldiers willfully serving in the military and those persons who opposed the war peacefully.

Mohou si ovšem vybrat, zdali upřednostní dlouhý pobyt ve vězení nebo třídenní absolvování tzv. Punishment Parku... Bravurní ukázka toho, jak mocný a krutý může být státní aparát.
