On 6th of January 2010, in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, a press release was arranged on Yuksel Street, for solidarity with conscience objector Enver Aydemir.
The Agile Police Force, waiting in the permitted explanation to finish, took the group into a chamber and asked everybody for their IDs. The police normally would not ask for ID in such a “constitutional” and “unsevere” and the “citizen” activist has no such obligation ask to inform the police before a press release.
And the police’s asking for all the participants of the demonstration for IDs, who are against war and violance and objecting the imprisonment of a conscience objector is for the
purpose of guaranteeing arresting and following imprisonment.
Some 100 members of Agile Police Force who surrounded the activists, mostly composing of anarchists attacked on them with all of their power within a few seconds. The violance, sexual assault and indignity ongoing by the road, all went on through the custodial prison –where they stayed more than 20 hours- and courthouse The police accused the activists for resisting them and alienating the public from military obligation and assault. All the activists, after being subject to heavy physical pressure in the police station, were forced to sign the affirmations which were already prepared by the police itself. In response to this treatment, the activists preferred to use their right to silence. At the same night, as the activists were under custody, this unlawful and arbitral treatment and the violance of the police has been protested in Ankara. And the imprisoned anti-militarists, after being imprisoned for a night, were brought to the Ankara Courthouse. And in the Courthouse, they were hugged by anti-militarists, feminists and their families with a strong support. They supported them by slogans and applaueses, The prisoners were first brought to judicial medicine and then to the attorney for affirmation. As anarchist Volkan Sevinç transferred to the court for the demand of being arrested, 22 of the activists were released. The case was suddenly done. To Volkan, the case was not so much different then an enactment. Since the hieararchy from the judge to the police officers had already made up their decisions; They were decisive about arresting Volkan. The judge acceded the press explanation as an “unlawful” meeting and Volkan Sevinç with administrating that meeting and with a gun. Besides these, they have decided that he had the chance of befogging the evidences.
And as an evidence they were claiming a knife though he refused that it does not belong to him and for that he refused body search. And the law of the power, who claims that he “managed” the illegal meeting, impounded Volkan into Ankara No. 1 Prison. ( f style prison which can be remembered from hunger strikes)
As Volkan being taken to prison vehicle his comrades and supporters shouted slogans. Everybody in there shouted out that they all walk shoulder to shoulder against fascism and the salvation shall be altogether but not alone. What was that made Volkan releasing his strong fist and chilling everybody around is the slogan of “Rebellion, Revolution, Anarchy”. As a result, Volkan Sevinç was imprisoned into the prison of the power because he rejected the death and killing.
This fact tells so clearly that the power is together with death and violance but not with life; and democracy is just a dishonest lie; and it tells more clearer and beter than more than hundreds of pages of a book.
And in the following day, on 8th of January 2010, Volkan’s comrades and his supporters protested the situation. All the same were written on the banners: The Consciences Can’t Be Imprisoned, Volkan sevinç Is Liberalizing”. On the banner in Ankara’s press release there was the sign “Freedom For Anti-Militarist Prisoners”. On the other hand, another person in Istanbul expressed his conscience objection in the same action. And again in the same action a person had a heart attack due to the assault of the police. He is under intensive care right now.
On the lands we used to live in, violance disturbs each of us all the time. The conditions are not bearable so more and forcing our souls. In this psycological and conventional war every thing becomes clearer day after day. The regnants of this country still share the power with a insincerety, which was defined by the anarchists before a 100 years ago.
The war, which has been started by the capitalism centuries ago against the existence and souls of the Anarchists, Kurds, Homosexuals, Transgenders and Gypsies and all other individuals which contradict with the typology of the “subject citizen” created by the power itself, keeps going on with all its nastyness and tricks.
The war and militarism are neither military obligation nor shooting a gun. So, against such a social structure, in such a period, the only thing that should be done is to refuse the death. That is why Volkan Sevinç is in prison right now; for he rejected death and killing.
The aim of this text is to call you –for the ones of who did not give their consciences- for sticking with our imprisoned comrade Volkan. Now, we need solidarity more than ever. Our primary need is the action support for this period. To show that Volkan’s conscience is not alone at all.

6 Ocak 2010 günü, Türkiye’nin başkenti Ankara’da, kentin en yoğun bölgesi olan Yüksel Caddesi’nde, tutuklu vicdanî retçi Enver Aydemir ile dayanışmak amacıyla, bir basın açıklaması düzenlendi.
Alanda hazır bekleyen Çevik Kuvvet, açıklamanın bitmesine fırsat vermeden, basın açıklamasına katılan grubu çembere aldı ve gruptaki herkesten kimliklerini göstermesini istedi. Polis normal koşullarda bu tip bir “anayasal” ve “şiddetsiz” eylemde kimlik sormaz ve “vatandaş” olarak eylemcinin, basın açıklaması yapmadan önce polise herhangi bir bildirim yapma zorunluluğu yoktur. Polisin, bir basın açıklamasında açıklamayı yapan eylemciden kimlik talep etmesi, alışıldık ve kabul edilmesi istenen bir durumdur. Polisin, bir vicdanî retçinin tutukluluğunu eleştiren savaş ve şiddet karşıtı bir grubu, çembere alması ve katılımcıların tamamından kimlik istemesiyse gözaltı ve sonrasında gelecek tutuklamayı garanti altına almak içindir.
Çoğunluğunu anarşistlerin oluşturduğu eylemcilerin etrafını saran 100 kadar Çevik Kuvvet polisi, birkaç saniye içinde bütün şiddeti ve gücüyle eylemcilerin üzerine saldırdı. Şiddet, cinsiyetçi taciz ve hakaretler, eylemcilerin nezarete götürüldükleri araçta, 20 saatten fazla kaldıkları nezarethanelerde ve adliye sürecinde de devam etti. Polis, savaş ve şiddet karşıtı eylemcileri hakaret, halkı askerlikten soğutmak ve polise mukavemet ile suçladı. Tüm eylemciler, ağır bir baskıya maruz bırakıldıkları emniyette, kendilerini oraya getiren polisin hazırlamış olduğu ifadeleri imzalamaya zorlandı. Bu muameleye karşılık eylemciler, ifade vermeyerek susma haklarını kullandılar. Aynı akşam anti-militaristler nezaretteyken, bu hukuksuz ve keyfî gözaltı, eylemcilere uygulanan şiddet, Ankara, İstanbul ve İzmir’de protesto edildi. Tutsak Anti-militaristler ise, bir gece gözaltında tutulduktan sonra, ertesi sabah Ankara Adliyesi’ne götürüldüler. Adliyede kendilerini anarşist yoldaşları, anti-militaristler, feministler ve aileleri, güçlü bir destekle kucakladı. Onlara slogan ve alkışlarla destek verdiler. Tutsaklar ilk önce adlî tıbba, sonra da ifade vermek üzere savcılığa götürüldüler.
Savcılıkta, eylemcilerden 22’si serbest bırakılırken anarşist Volkan Sevinç tutuklanma talebiyle mahkemeye sevk edildi. Mahkeme hızla görüldü. Volkan’a göre o salonda mizansenden farksız bir yargılama gerçekleşmişti. Çünkü hâkimden, polis amirlerine kadar uzanan hiyerarşi, zaten kararını vermişti; Volkan’ı tutuklamaya kararlıydılar. Hâkim, savaş ve şiddet karşıtı anti-militaristlerin gerçekleştirdiği basın açıklamasını “kanunsuz” toplantı, Volkan Sevinç’i ise bu kanunsuz toplantıyı yönetmekle ve toplantıya silahla gelmekle suçlamıştı. Bunların yanı sıra, delilleri karartmak gibi bir imkânı olduğuna hükmetmişlerdi.
Delil olarak ise, kendisine ait olmadığını belirttiği ve üst araması tutanağını imzalamasını reddetmesine neden olan bir bıçağı gösteriyorlardı. Volkan’ın olmayan bir bıçağın “silah”, anayasal bir hak olan basın açıklamasının “kanunsuz toplantı”, Anarşist Volkan Sevinç’in ise kanunsuz toplantıyı “yöneten” bir kişi olduğunu söyleyen iktidarların hukuku, tüm bu asılsız suçlamalarla Volkan’ı Ankara 1 No’lu cezaevine gönderip; kapattı.
Volkan, cezaevi aracına götürülürken yoldaşları ve destek olmaya gelenler, sloganlar attılar. Oradaki herkes, faşizme karşı Volkan’la ve tüm anti-militarist tutsaklarla omuz omuza yürüdüğünü, kurtuluşun tek başına değil hep beraber olacağını haykırdı. Herkesin tüylerini ürperten ve Volkan’ın kendisini tutan polislerden güçlü yumruğunu kurtarıp havaya kaldırmasını sağlayan; “İsyan Devrim Anarşi” sloganıydı. Sonuç olarak anarşist Volkan Sevinç, ölümü ve öldürmeyi reddettiği için iktidarların hapishanesine kapatıldı, tutsak edildi.
Bu olay, iktidarların hukukunun, yaşamın değil ölümün ve şiddetin yanında olduğunu, demokrasinin sadece ikiyüzlü bir yalan olduğunu, yazılacak yüzlerce sayfa kitaptan daha basit ve net bir biçimde anlatmaktadır.
Ertesi gün, 8 Ocak 2010 günü İstanbul, Ankara ve İzmir’de Volkan Sevinç’in yoldaşları ve ona sahip çıkanlar bu durumu protesto ettiler. Pankartların hepsinde aynı şey yazıyordu: “Vicdanlar tutsak alınamaz, Volkan Sevinç özgürleşiyor”. Ankara’daki basın açıklamasında pankartta, Anti-militarist Tutsaklara Özgürlük İnisiyatifi” imzası vardı. Diğer yandan İstanbul’da bir kişi daha, aynı eylemde, vicdanî reddini açıkladı. Yine İstanbul’daki eylemde, polisin basın açıklaması yapan eylemcileri sürekli tacizi sonucu, bir anarşist kalp krizi geçirdi. Kendisi şu anda yoğun bakımda bulunmaktadır.
Yaşadığımız topraklarda şiddet her an etimize batıyor. Bıçak şu anda kemiği zorluyor ve ruhumuza batıyor… Katillerin ve efendilerin, bu toprakların halklarıyla yürüttüğü psikolojik ve konvansiyonel savaşta, her şey giderek daha açık ve çıplak hale geliyor. Bu ülkenin egemenleri, anarşistlerin yüz yıl önce ne olduğunu söylediği bir şeyi, yani ‘iktidar’ı olanca ikiyüzlülükleriyle paylaşıyorlar. İktidarın, birlik ve kimlik inşasında harç olarak kullana geldiği halinden memnun, biat etmeyi boynunun borcu bilen ideal vatandaş rüyasını tehdit eden tüm politik, sınıfsal, etnik ve cinsel kimliklerin ruhunu, varlığını hedef alan, kapitalizmin yüzlerce yıl önce başlattığı bu savaş, bugün tüm hileli ve çirkin gerçekliği ile sürüyor. Savaş ve militarizm ne sadece askerlik ne de sadece silah sıkmaktır. Bu nedenle, militarizm-piyon işbirliği ilişkisine dayanan bir toplumsallığa karşı, böylesine bir süreçte, yapılması gereken en yaşamsal şey; ölümü reddetmektir. Volkan Sevinç, işte bu yüzden cezaevinde; ölümü ve öldürmeyi reddettiği için.
Bu metnin amacı, sizi yani “vicdanı tutsak edilemeyenleri ve yoldaşlarını”, bizlerle ve tutsak yoldaşımız Volkan’la dayanışmaya çağırmaktır. Yeryüzünde ona ve bizim vicdanımıza yoldaşlık eden herkese açık çağrımız budur. Şimdi, dayanışmaya her zamankinden daha çok ihtiyaç var. Öncelikli ihtiyacımız, bu sürecin eylemlerle desteklenmesidir. Volkan’ın vicdanının yalnız olmadığını gösterilmesidir.
