(en) The Black Cat Sabotage Handbook is a resistance movement artifact that mysteriously appeared in hard copy (thank you, whoever you are!) in the distro area at the 2010 Wild Roots Feral Futures eco-defense & rewilding gathering.

After more than a year and numerous requests, the Dirty Hands Collective decided to release the manual on-line, piece by piece (the manual is 136 pages long so scanning it all at once for release at places like ZineLibrary.info seemed unrealistic, though we had planned to compile the sections as we release them for later uploading in one file).

Then, alas, shortly after getting started scanning and uploading yesterday, and after announcing it on several anarchist websites, someone did our job for us! Many thanks to the commenter on Infoshop News who provided the link to a download of the full manual, apparently uploaded today for our (everyone’s) benefit. We’ve uploaded it here as well in hopes that the download will be faster. Please let us know if you experience any problems. Enjoy!

Black Cat Sabotage

As far as we can tell, it has not existed anywhere else online, yet. As to the history of the document, we can uncover little other than one source that credits its authorship to Avalon, aka William Rogers, the Green Scare arrestee who committed suicide in his cell shortly after arrest. We’d like confirmation of this, one way or the other, and regardless, would like to dedicate this blog to Avalon’s spirit and memory.

A huge storm of revolt raged through the streets of Greece in December 2008. After the 15 year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos was murdered in coldblood by a cop, riots spread throughout the whole country for several weeks. Hundreds of corporate and government targets were attacked, plundered and set on fire. Although it was anarchists and anti-authoritarians who took the lead in this storm during the first week after the murder, it spread itself fast and many people got involved in this revolt against miserable living conditions, against the authorities and against the hopelessness offered by this world to the exploited and oppressed. But the revolt didn’t cease at the end of 2008, neither did it start on the day of the murder. The attacks against the structures of State and Capital went on and spread to several smaller towns in Greece.
About 180 fire attacks and, since a couple of months, artisan [‘homemade’] bombing attacks were carried out under the name of ‘Conspiracy of Cells of Fire’. The attacks targeted banks, car dealers, shopping centres, governmental institutions, police stations, offices of political parties, houses of politicians, judges, criminologists, journalists, private security firms and companies building prisons,… and always accompanied by elegantly critical and nihilistic claims of anarchist responsibility.
The claims did not only criticize Capital, State and Authority (in all of their aspects), but also the resignation of the exploited, their herd mentality, their collaboration with the system. The Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (CCF) refuse to regard oppression and exploitation as simply being imposed by batons and blackmail, but understand it as a social relation in which all have their responsibility –and make or don’t make the choice to fight against it.
In September 2009 extensive anti-terror raids attempted to strike the CCF, these raids became one more political tool to attack the wider anarchist & anti-authoritarian movement, a situation which intensified when two members of the CCF were captured during an operation in November 2010, Athens. Against the ongoing legalistic kidnapping of our comrades and for the escalation of struggle for total liberation, the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire : Illegal Sector called for an informal global project based on anarchist subversion, direct action and international solidarity. These papers document some of the many communiques, letters and legal & court updates concerning the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, the accused comrades of the same case, plus solidarity actions resulting from the call for a formation of an Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front.
Whilst this publication can of course only offer a partial view upon the situation and topics, it is produced in the spirit of rebellion which fuels the total war against domination. It is an unfinished document that seeks collaboration through acts of refusal. The international call which has been circulated for the subversive formation of an International Revolutionary Front / Informal Anarchist Federation (Global), which is based on the principles of international solidarity, permanent subversion and constant conflict should be discussed, debated and acted upon without delay.

(en) Expect Resistance is not one but three books, each of which may be read as a complete work unto itself. The first book, printed in standard black ink, continues the inquiry into modern life and its discontents begun in Days of War, Nights of Love. Just as that book included improved versions of texts originally published between 1996 and 1999, this book draws on CrimethInc. material from 2000 to 2004, painstakingly refined and augmented with a great deal of new content. Je to pojednani o osobni promene a spolecenske revolte, dilo, ktere zveda latku nezavisleho a radikalniho vydavatelstvi.

What is Green Anarchy Magazine?

Green Anarchy is a radical anti-civilization anarchist magazine produced by an anarchist collective in Oregon and is published twice a year. Green Anarchy began as a basic introduction to eco-anarchist and radical environmental ideas, but after a year of limited success, members of the current collective took on the project with an enthusiastic trajectory. It took a few more issues to get into stride, but by issue #8/Spring 2002, the magazine had gained an international reputation within the anarchist and environmental movements, as well as occasional mentions in the mainstream press (Fox News, Eugene Weekly, and more). The collective has evolved over the past few years, but a core of dedicated individuals have been able to produce a consistent high-quality journal, delivered on-time, while we continue to broaden our scope, distribution, and print run. We have a large subscription base, small-scale localized distributors around the
world, and a notoriety as collective consistently posing provocative questions on the state of the world and global resistance. Green Anarchy is one of the most noted mediums for expressing green anarchist and anarcho-primitivist ideas and critiques. It is one of the most respected anarchist and radical environmental journals today, while continuously gaining more appeal in the non-activist world.

The collective is currently comprised of a number of diverse individuals with years of experience as self-publishers, authors, and speakers. Individuals in the collective are involved in various projects ranging from radio shows, video publications, international speaking tours, and more, yet, Green Anarchy remains the priority for all involved. One of the editors, John Zerzan, is an
accomplished author, whose books include: Elements of Refusal (C.A.L. Press), Future Primitive (Autonomedia), Against Civilization (Uncivilized Books), and Running On Emptiness (Feral House), as well as numerous international translations.

Green Anarchy switched from a newsprint tabloid to a magazine format with issue #15/Winter 2004, so we could provide a more durable publication that is easier to read and to widen our
circulation. Currently our magazine ranges from 72-100 pages with print-runs between 8-9000 copies. We also have a large distribution center with anarchist zines, periodicals, books, and videos. What Can I Expect In Each Issue?

(en) The Freedom Fighter's Manual was a fifteen-page booklet that was manufactured by the United States' Central Intelligence Agency and airdropped over Nicaragua in 1983. A Contra fighter gave it to a U.S. reporter in Honduras in 1984. The manual enumerated several methods by which the average citizen could cause disorder.

The publication describes myriad ways in which the average citizen could disrupt the everyday workings of the government. It begins with actions that require little to no risk at all, such as hiding or destroying important tools, calling in sick for work, and leaving lights and faucets on. It then progresses to instruct people to steal food from the government, release livestock from farming cooperatives, and bring down telephone lines. Four pages are devoted to disabling vehicles. By the end of the pamphlet, there are detailed diagrams showing how to make and use Molotov cocktails against police stations.
