(en) Creation is a fascinating cinematic experience from start to finish, and it is hard to resist its captivating magic. Honestly, I was thinking that I would watch something like one of the ordinary biography documentaries, but I was totally wrong. The director Jon Amiel’s nice touches and clever ideas create a subtle movie, make Darwin more human and more real. I sometimes laughed with joy and sometimes –I confess– cried. Paul Bettany was brilliant in his role and Martha West was cute as Darwin’s daughter Annie. The movie tells a short period of time, and mostly deals with the loss of Annie, and Darwin’s personal dilemma before he published On the Origin of Species, but it’s a rare opportunity to look from the eyes of a genius mind who “killed God”.

Příběh filmu, který vychází z biografie Charlese Darwina od Randala Keynese, popisuje vznik jeho mistrovského kousku "O původu druhů". Osudy celého světa byly, ale také nemusely být ovlivněny revolučním teoretikem z malé anglické vesničky, jehož "věděcká víra" byla denně konfrontována s dogmatickými názory silně nábožensky založené manželky. Hlavní postavy ztvární skuteční manželé Paul Bettany a Jennifer Connelly.

(en) John Zerzan (born 1943) is an American anarchist and primitivist philosopher and author. His works criticize agricultural civilization as inherently oppressive, and advocate drawing upon the ways of life of prehistoric humans as an inspiration for what a free society should look like. Some of his criticism has extended as far as challenging domestication, language, symbolic thought (such as mathematics and art) and the concept of time. His five major books are Elements of Refusal (1988), Future Primitive and Other Essays (1994), Running on Emptiness (2002), Against Civilization: Readings and Reflections (2005) and Twilight of the Machines (2008).

(sk) John Zerzan (narodený 1943) je americký anarchista a primitivistický filozof a autor. Jeho práce kritizujú (poľnohospodársku) civilizáciu ako v samej podstate utláčateľskú a obhajuje názor zhliadnutia na spôsoby života prehistorických ľudí ako inšpiráciu k tomu, ako by mala vyzerať slobodná spoločnosť. Jeho kritika sa rozšírila až po problém civilizácie, reči, symbolického myslenia (ako napríklad matematika a umenie) a koncepcie času. Jeho štyri hlavné knihy sú Základy odmietnutia (1988), Budúci primitív (1994), Proti civilizácii (1998) a Beh naprázdno (2002).
